The Society Where I Come From

My name is CaRter, and I am a story teller……..
The tale I am about to tell today, is of bitter taste. A tale about the society where I come from, where we have been, where we are and where we are headed to.
Drifting! Drifting! Drifting! Into a deep blue sea and yet we are taking selfies……
A society where the poor remained poor, the rich became richer and the wise carefully carved their names in the scrolls of time,
A society where love is a cliche, yet spouses are in a secret competition with each other,
Husband do not want wife to be too successful, to avoid disrespect and a plunge to his manliness and ego balloon. Wives do not want husbands to be too successful, to keep him in constant check and remove the eyes of them “runs babes” off his radar,
A society where people would give their loyalty and support to celebrities they do not know and blight their friends trying to come to lime light,
A society where friends can’t help friends financially, but joyfully Liquor them to Stupor and leave them to "Hang Over"
A society where people get their first life flower when they rent a permanent space in the cemetery,
A society where book no help anybody as far as say maga dey pay!
Permit me, I may be slightly guilty of a fallacy of hasty generalizations, but be it as it may there is no smoke without fire,
The strive for money has made us mad, things have fallen apart and the center may no longer hold,
The labors of our heroes past has been blown to dust, and  Giants of Africa reduced to Ants in a circus of greed and selfishness!
Money and success are in no way kinsmen, they are two different entities.
It is not about the man who has 3 Bentley s, 2 Bugatti and 6 porches……. It’s about the man who sold his cars to save a child dying from cancer!
Strive for success, but remember we are only rich to reach out to others…………
My name is CaRter, and am a story teller

  6. "A society where people get their first life flower when they rent a permanent space in the cemetery" This is awfully true because we don't cherish little things. What is flower to the average Nigerian, i guess it's just in the movies they find relevance. Well-done my friend, comman write for my blog oooo seekerslocus.com. And please write more, this is the bitter truth we need to force this generation to see and learn. We have sold our integrity on the altar of "I wan blow" "I want to be the happening bae, dude in town." There's no highway to success, no shortcut but they think we are archaic to think this way. We won't relent though, we will keep preaching it.
